Eric Janszen is CEO, Bluesocket, Inc. a manufacturer of solutions to
manage and secure wireless local area networks (WLANs) in enterprises
and public hotspots worldwide.
With more than 20 years experience in product, marketing, sales and
financial management, Eric was most recently, Managing Director of
Osborn Capital LLC where he managed a portfolio of 20 technology
startups and increased its net asset value from $8 million in 1998 to a
peak of $100 million. At Osborn, Eric participated in six liquidity
events; these included two company sales to Cisco, one to Microsoft and
one to Nortel. Two portfolio companies, Arrowpoint and Interliant,
conducted IPOs.
Prior to his role as a venture capitalist, Janszen held management
positions at Cayman Systems, CenterLine Software, eRoom (formerly
Instinctive), Media 100 and Stratus Computer. He has knowledge of a
broad range of technologies, including Internet infrastructure, IP
networking, digital video, operating systems, and programming languages.
A veteran of five startup companies, Eric also currently serves on the
board of directors of Astrum Software and the advisory boards of Gold
Wire Technology and USPowerSolutions.
Eric's a popular public speaker known for his quick wit and wide-ranging
intellect. He has written for and been written about in major media
outlets including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The Boston
Globe as well as the BBC, Forbes, Red Herring and Fast Company.
Eric received a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
