| Wendell Smith is Director of Marketing for ViXS Systems Inc., a developer of digital video networking solutions over wireless and wired networks. ViXS takes a video-centric view of wireless QoS, defining it in terms of a guaranteed frame rate versus various traditional methods that attempt to guarantee bit-rate only--an inherently difficult objective in wireless networks. Wendell is responsible for the marketing and product management of ViXS' communications solutions for wireless digital video networks. More recently, Wendell was a marketing manager for Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector where he was responsible for the marketing and product management of Motorola's Bluetooth products. Before that, he led the marketing team responsible for the 68000, ColdFire, and PowerPC embedded microprocessors. Prior to Motorola, Wendell held various engineering positions in the development of hardware and software for PowerPC workstations and mainframe disk drives. In addition, he served as a technical marketer for engineering and scientific applications using IBM's vector processor and PowerPC workstations. Wendell earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Science Degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington. |
