Prior to joining Nextel, Ali was the Chief Technology and Development Officer of MobileStar, the leading provider of wireless broadband Internet and corporate Intranet access in Public Hot Spots. In his role, Ali was responsible for setting the vision and developing global strategy for development and deployment of the go-forward software and hardware infrastructure, information services, and technology road map. He directed the development of strategic applications to provide customer value with emphasis on usability, customer relationship management, and customer experience. In his role, Ali also provided overall leadership, strategy, planning, scheduling, and management for all enterprise related marketing, strategic alliances, information services, and technology projects and initiatives.

Prior to MobileStar, Ali was VP of Engineering and Operations for SkyTel, a leader in wireless messaging. In his role, Ali was responsible for managing overall network planning, system design, project management, implementation, maintenance, and operations of SkyTel's Nationwide Traditional and Advanced Messaging Networks.

Ali was Director of Engineering Services for Alltel Mobile, cellular division of ALLTEL Corporation, and Director of Engineering for LCC International, one of the world's largest providers of radio frequency engineering, network implementation and optimization services and products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry.

Ali is working on his MBA from Graduate School of Management of University of Dallas. He currently holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Maryland in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.
