Rationalizing Roaming Relationships
If you're in the hotspot business, you need to build a flexible service that supports as many types of roaming relationships as possible. But there are several categories of roaming partnerships, each with its own business model and supporting technical infrastructure. This session will describe the current types of roaming relationships and the trends in back-end systems, client interfaces and access control technology that will shape the future of Wi-Fi roaming.
Speakers: Cody W. Catalena, Executive Vice President, NetNearU Steve Harmsen, Vice President, Business Development, STSN Pierre Trudeau, Founder and CTO, Colubris Networks
WLAN in Industry: Putting RFID to Work
RFID technology deploys inexpensive "tags" that respond to RF queries, making it easy to keep track of the whereabouts of objects large and small. Such "asset management" applications abound in areas as diverse as warehousing, health care, manufacturing, and retail. Come to this session to hear about what's being deployed now and how it's being used today. This is RFID at work, and it's also Wi-Fi at work.
Moderator: Alex Goldman, Associate Editor, ISP-Planet.com Speakers: Ken Crawford, Sales Manager, Tech Center, LLC, an Intermec Partner Sue Gordon-Lathrop, Vice President, Emerging Consumer Environments, Visa International Carey Hidaka, Market Development Executive, Emerging Business Solutions - RFID Tagging, IBM Global Services Jeff Hopkins, Americas RFID Leader for Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young

Part 2. Despite many obvious benefits, not every enterprise has the resourcesor wants to develop the resourcesto design, deploy, and manage a wireless LAN. Until recently, that meant doing without. But Wi-Fi is now well enough established that managed WLAN services are springing up to complement the many other types of managed, outsourced networking services available. This session takes a look at what it takes to establish a profitable managed Wi-Fi business. Speaker: Paraham Momtahan, Vice President, Research and Development, Bridgewater Systems
RF Management Implementation Strategies
The term RF management really describes three things: the management of RF frequencies, security applications, and planning of wireless LANs. Strategies for achieving these goals are as different as the many vendors of hardware and software offerings designed to achieve them. Some offer dedicated RF management hardware, others balk at using such equipment; still others suggest RF management is a bandaid solution for a first-generation WLAN architecture. Four players in attendance will discuss different philosophies and strategies surrounding RF management implementations.
Moderator: Max Smetannikov, Analyst, Networks and Infrastructure, the451 Group Speakers: Merwyn Andrade, CTO, Aruba Wireless Networks Dr. Harry Bims, Founder & CTO, AirFlow Networks Andris Dindzans, Senior Product Manager, Trapeze Networks Matthew Glenn, Director of Product Management, AireSpace, Inc.

Techniques for Deploying Secure WLANs
WLAN encryption and MAC address lists are common security
measures, familiar to most WLAN administrators. But what about more
advanced techniques that push the envelope, addressing the needs of
larger, more complex, more sophisticated WLANs? This session will examine two
less well-understood techniques that can play a role in secure WLAN
deployment: methods for implementing WLANs in conjunction with VLANs,
and implementation strategies for 802.1X access control.
Speakers: Mike Banic, Director of Product Marketing, Trapeze Networks Pete Behrens, Vice President, Engineering, Roving Planet
