Dr. Bims is an expert in wireless networking technology with several papers to his credit and more than ten years of experience in developing innovative solutions for radio networks. Prior to founding AirFlow, he was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Bay Partners, where he developed the innovations upon which AirFlow's products are based. Previously, he was director of software architecture for Symmetry Communications Systems, where he led software development for the company's GGSN and SGSN products for GPRS mobile networks.
Dr. Bims has held consulting and management positions at several wireless companies, including Atheros, Magis Networks, Symmetry, IoSpan Wireless, Glenayre Technologies, and Wireless Access. He received his BS in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and he earned both MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford. He is a Bell Labs cooperative research fellow, a former chair of the IEEE Engineering Management Society for Silicon Valley, and has filed for seven patents related to AirFlow's technology.
