Since October of 2001, Roger Dewey has held the title of Vice President, The Americas, M2M Com for Sony Ericsson. M2M Com (Machine to Machine Communications) is focused on developing and selling mobile communications products and solutions for vertical applications such as Vending, Fleet Tracking, and Mobile Security, as well as mobile computing products based on GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi targeted at, along with Sony Ericsson handsets, further mobilize personal and professional lifestyles. He is located in Sony Ericsson's USA based headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Previous to this assignment, Mr. Dewey was Vice President & General Manager of Marketing & Sales for Ericsson's Internet Applications Business Unit located in Stockholm, Sweden. During this time, he held global responsibility for Marketing & Sales for all Ericsson Mobile Internet Applications and Infrastructure Platforms, including all Location Based Services products and solutions. Additionally, he was responsible for the operative launch of market activities towards Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO).
Mr. Dewey began his career with Ericsson in 1995 with the Messaging Product Unit, holding various positions including the Head of Regional Market Operations for the Asia Pacific Rim, Head of Regional Market Operations for the Americas, and ultimately, Vice President, Global Market Operations. During his tenure, he oversaw the successful market launches of Ericsson's SMS-C and Unified Messaging platforms.
Prior to joining Ericsson, Mr. Dewey was the Head of Project & Product Management for Incotel, Inc.; a New York based developer of store and forward messaging systems for public and private fixed networks.
