Steve Nye brings over 14 years of software industry experience at an executive level to his position General Manager of Cisco's Building Broadband Solutions Unit. In this role, Nye's primary responsibility is to deliver Cisco products and solutions that manage wired and wireless public access services for small to medium sized venues that typically require on premise access control features and functionality such as hotels, conference centers and coffee shops. Nye leads a team that serves as the focal point for addressing public access market needs for service providers and identifying the products and requirements necessary across a range of Cisco products to meet larger service provider system requirements.
Prior to Cisco, Nye held the position of president when he joined Atcom Inc. in January 1999. During his tenure, Nye presided over Atcom successful merger with CAIS Internet, Inc. in September 1999. Before Atcom, Nye helped National Decision Systems (NDS) double its profits by providing market leading companies such as Sears, McDonalds and Home Depot with critical decision support data. NDS merged with VNU Information Services in 1997. Nye also served as Senior Vice President with Computer Associates (CA), where he participated in the growth of CA from $70M in sales to a leadership position.
Nye holds a bachelor's degree and an MBA from James Madison University in Virginia.
