Matt Peterson is the founder of the Bay Area Wireless User Group (www.bawug.org/). BAWUG began as outgrowth of his work on PlayaNET, an instant wireless intranet for the weeklong desert art expression event known as Burning Man. The group provides an informational clearinghouse of wireless knowledge (not only limited to 802.11b), monthly meetings, & features a very active 800+ subscriber mailing list. Matt has been instrumental on initial wireless security research, with recent work focused on WiLDing (Wireless LAN Discovery; NOT "war driving"). He's also known to be actively addicted to the stable & powerful operating system known as FreeBSD. |
