Jon Russo
Vice President of Marketing
iPass, Inc.

Jon Russo, Vice President of Marketing at iPass, is charged with building and leading global marketing, corporate communications, and strategic alliance teams as the company leverages the explosion in security applications and broadband wireless connectivity technologies. Jon has over 15 years of marketing and business development experience in the software, telecommunications and Internet industries. He joined iPass in December 2001 after serving as Vice President of Marketing for Frontier Communications where — in support of the Business Services Division's 500 person national field sales organization — he drove the strategies for data, Web, managed security and Internet Protocol (IP) services, all delivered via the company's highly acclaimed "optronics" network. Frontier was acquired by Global Crossing Ltd. for the data services and optronics network, which became the model for the company's data services worldwide.

Jon became part of the Frontier leadership team after his content distribution startup, GlobalCenter, had been acquired. As GlobalCenter's vice president of marketing, Jon led his organization to growth exceeding $50 million in revenue for Web hosting customers such as Yahoo! and Netscape. In early industry experiences with the Internet division of MFS Communications (acquired by WorldCom), Jon directed pricing and positioning of all data and Internet products, to include the Metropolitan Access Ethernet hubs, MAE East and MAE West. Before his commercial experiences, Jon served as a telecommunications officer in the United States Army. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Connecticut.
