 After completing a masters degree and a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science Dr. Kohrt joined Siemens Public Communication Networks division in October 1984. He has worked in the switching application software environment in various roles in development, system design, systems engineering and development project management for the successful EWSD switch and next generation ATM-based systems. During this time he also spent two extended periods working abroad at Siemens Public Switching Systems in Boca Raton, Florida and at GPT Ltd. in Coventry. In December 1996, Dr. Kohrt took over responsibility for Strategic Product Planning of Siemens' Public Networks Group and in March 1999 joined the cellular networks division "Communication on Air" as Vice President for UMTS strategy and promotion. Since March of 2001 he is responsible for Network Architecture, Radio Interface topics and Application Platforms within the Strategic Product Management organization. Dr. Kohrt is married, has two children and in his spare time likes to scuba-dive the lakes and oceans of this world. |
