 Michael Zimmermann (mzimmerma@t-online.de) is working as a free consultant in the area of marketing and Internet based applications. Zimmermann studied Aeronautics at the Technical University of Berlin and received a Dipl.-Ing in 1986. He started his career as a systems engineer for aero engines at MTU GmbH in Munich. After this he joined ESG GmbH, Munich as project manager for the design and development of helicopter and fixed wing aircraft cockpits. In 1992 he took over the new business unit, Air Traffic Systems, at ESG as head of department. He headed also various European projects for Eurocontrol and the EU in the field of air traffic management. In 1995 he joined CAM GmbH as Director of Marketing. CAM GmbH provides consultancy and development services in various areas such as in the telecommunication, space and air traffic management business. In 2000 Zimmermann joined Akamai Technologies EMEA as Director of Marketing, where he successfully introduced and positioned the brand Akamai as well as the new market Content Delivery in Europe. In June 2002 Zimmermann was asked by the FIWM to lead the Project E-Garten.Net, which is a public hot spot based on WLAN IEEE 802.11b technology in the Englische Garten in Munich. |
