Mehrdad Sheik is currently the CTO and VP of engineering at WiZones, a company he co-founded in April 2002 to focus on the Public Access Internet market. He is responsible for the development of WiZones backend system for usage billing and operations, as well as network solutions for customers. With over 20 years of voice and data networking experience, Sheik has held technical and business management positions at major networking companies including Digital Equipment, Cascade Communications, Ascend, Lucent, and most recently Pelago Networks. He received his MSEE and BSEE degrees from the Polytechnic of Grenoble in France. He also received a High-Technology MBA degree from Northeastern University.
