During his eighteen years of experience in the computing industry, Peter
Gaucher has worked in a variety of Strategy, Marketing and Sales positions.
Peter has been with IBM for seven years and is currently Program Director of
Device Product Management for IBM Pervasive Computing Division and is
responsible for Strategy and Market Development for end to end computing
solutions employing embedded technologies that extend e-business
applications to new classess of “pervasive” devices.
Previously at IBM, Mr. Gaucher served for 5 years in IBM Personal Computing
Division as Program Director of Mobile Product Strategy as well as other
product marketing and strategy positions. As a strategist with an ability to
see trends and serve as a visionary, he has provided long-term strategic
counseling for IBM’s mobile PC and handheld products marketed under the
successful ThinkPad and WorkPad brands and was responsible for worldwide
product line strategy and portfolio management.
Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Gaucher served in both marketing and sales
capacities over a ten year period at Compaq Computer Corporation, and most
notably, co-authored Compaq’s market entry strategy into the Japanese market
in 1991. Gaucher graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the
University of Calgary, Canada in 1984.
