Brian Lakamp is the Senior Vice President of Technology for Sony Pictures' Digital Policy Group. The Digital Policy Group was formed to coordinate digital policy across Sony Pictures' businesses. Brian specifically focuses on emerging and disruptive technologies. Brian also evaluates and develops new business models to keep Sony Pictures ahead of the technological curve. Brian has been involved in digital rights management issues since the early days of MovieFly (now MovieLink). Since then, Brian has been a key participant in copy protection efforts such as Digital Transmission Copy Protection (5C) and emerging home networking standards.
