Brad manages teams which develop outbound intellectual property licensing programs and which bring in IP via acquisitions, strategic partnerships or licensing. Recent accomplishments in the DRM space include leading the negotiation team for Microsoft's license and Windows Media DRM Approved Output with the 4c and with the 5c, as well as the broad strategic interoperability deal between Microsoft and Macrovision.
For 2002-2004, Brad was in a strategy role focusing on digital media adoption which included key deals with Time Warner and the Walt Disney Company, leading the litigation settlement with Intertrust and putting together the current Content Guard ownership structure with Time Warner and Thomson. Brad currently serves on the board of Content Guard.
Previous responsibilities in his 14 years at Microsoft include: managing the business groups responsible for Microsoft's DRM technologies in the Windows client product group, business development for Core Audio/Video technologies within the Windows platform, managing website development and marketing teams, and the launch and management of Microsoft TV.
Prior to Microsoft, Brad had his own Marketing company in Los Angeles working with ad agencies, entertainment companies and financial services firms.
