John Bruce has led the strategic direction of Authentica since joining the company as President and CEO in October 2003. Under Mr. Bruce's leadership the company has doubled its growth in the Enterprise Rights Management market, launched an end-to-end Active Rights Management platform and emerged as the clear leader in helping corporations adopt Enterprise Rights Management technology.
Prior to Authentica, Mr. Bruce spent four years with Counterpane Internet Security, where he was Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales. Mr. Bruce joined the founders in the earliest days of the company and was a key contributor in understanding and shaping the market for real-time Managed Security Services. During his tenure, the company achieved record growth and was widely acknowledged as the visionary leader in an emerging market.
Mr. Bruce also spent more than eight years at Symantec Corporation. Before coming to the US in 1996, Mr. Bruce served with Symantec in Holland, leading the company's marketing and business development efforts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. During this time, he was responsible for building and executing a marketing and channel strategy that drove Symantec's revenue growth across the region. From 1996, Mr. Bruce was with Symantec in California, where he held a number of senior positions. His last was Vice President of Business Development and Alliances, driving company strategy with other major vendors including Hewlett Packard, IBM, and Intel.
Bruce holds an Honors Degree in Business Management and a Masters Diploma in Computer Science from Bradford University in Bradford, England.
