Bill has developed and led country, European and global converging communications, media and security businesses for over 20 years in senior line and strategy roles with Xerox, Plessey, Motorola, TA Associates / Advent, C&W, MCI, and FirstMark. He has also undertaken global investment, M&A and technology venture capital work. Although involved in DRM since 2000, during the 70's and 80's he undertook future-media business visits to Xerox Parc and Apple. He's been a thought-leader on DRM policy in UK and EU, was editor of and lead contributor to UK Government's DRM report, and has recently led a major DRM strategy project for a leading global mobile operator. He has a number of notable initiatives to his credit including negotiating the agreement that gave Nokia its digital switching technology, leading teams that designed and built 8 mobile businesses, and introducing the first SMS service.
Bill is Member of UK Government's Broadband Stakeholder Group Executive; Director of BritishAmerican Business Inc (US and UK); Freeman of the City of London and former CEO of the European Competitive Telecommunications Association.
