Mr. Krepick joined Macrovision in December 1988. From 1988 to 1995, Mr. Krepick served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing and subsequently as Senior Vice President of Theatrical Copy Protection. He was responsible for Macrovision's core theatrical copy protection business and for developing and executing its multi-tiered pay-per-view copy protection licensing program for semiconductor manufacturers, set-top decoder manufacturers, and system operators. Mr. Krepick was promoted to President/COO in July 1995, and was promoted to CEO in October 2001.
Mr. Krepick led Macrovision's transformation from a private to public company in 1997, and has expanded the company’s business from video copy protection to a leader in content value management for video, music, games and software. Under Mr. Krepick's leadership, Macrovision has grown its revenues since the IPO from $20 million/year to approximately $200 million/ year and its market cap from $100 million to over $1 billion. Macrovision has been listed among Forbes' "Best 200 Small Companies" for 6 consecutive years.
Prior to joining Macrovision, Mr. Krepick held several executive marketing management positions over a ten-year period with ROLM Corporation, the leading digital PBX manufacturer. Before ROLM, Mr. Krepick held marketing and product management positions with Coherent, Inc. (medical products) and was a staff economist at SRI International.
Mr. Krepick holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Stanford University.
