Spencer Stephens joined Warner Bros. Technical Operations as Vice President, Technology in September of 2002 as a member of the technology group. This group is responsible for technology and requirements development across a broad range on digital content distribution applications and standards activities. At Warner Bros. Spencer’s focus is on content security particularly in home networking and on the technology for new business models such as the mobile delivery of content.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Spencer was Vice President of Technology & Digital Production for Walt Disney Television Animation. Spencer has over 25 years experience in IT technology, primarily in data communications as an engineer and as system architect focused on the design and the innovative application of network systems. He has co-authored 10 patent applications in wireless networking, several relating to content protection and one on a navigation system. His interests are in the application of technology in the entertainment industry particularly for content creation, distribution and protection.
He has a BSc (1st Class Honors) in physics from the University of Sussex, UK and an MS in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
