James Wendorf is Vice President and Senior Manager of Technology & Standards in Philips Electronics, Briarcliff Manor, NY. He is responsible for activities related to digital rights management and the promotion of open standards-based content distribution systems.
Since joining Philips in 1987, Dr. Wendorf has served in a number of technical and management positions in Research and Development, on a range of topics including multiprocessor operating systems, television and set-top box control systems, interactive digital TV, HDTV, video processing, display electronics, storage systems, home networks, and medical IT.
Dr. Wendorf serves on the Board of Directors for the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). Previously he has chaired the Peripherals Work Group within the Trusted Computing Group (TCG).
Dr. Wendorf holds a B.Math in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and received his PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, in the areas of operating systems, computer architectures, and distributed real-time systems.
