Ralph Simon, Chairman of the Mobile Entertainment Forum – Americas (MEF), is recognized as one the leading international authorities on mobile entertainment and mobile content rights and delivery. Simon leads the strategic vision and success of the MEF in the United States and Americas and is instrumental in leading the mobile entertainment industry for its members, as well as driving new membership programs, partner relations and all corporate marketing, branding and positioning within mobile entertainment - assisting member companies to grow their revenues and commercial effectiveness.
He has over 30 years of successful entrepreneurial and leadership experience in the recording, music publishing and entertainment industry. Currently, he advises and guides the mobile interests of some of the world's leading recording artists and celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, U2, Shania Twain, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Simon is a true pioneer of the mobile entertainment industry having been the first to introduce ring tones to the USA, where he co-founded and became Chairman of Yourmobile (now known as Moviso, the US market leader in mobile entertainment) the first company of its kind in the USA and internationally, specializing in the development, distribution and application of mobile entertainment content, intellectual property and publishing rights for mobile phones, devices and content. Vivendi-Universal acquired Yourmobile/Moviso from Simon in 2002.
Prior to Yourmobile, Simon also co-founded and developed the Zomba Group of companies and Jive Records, growing it to become the world's most successful and leading independent music publishing and recording organizations. In addition, Simon also held the position of Executive Vice-President of Capitol Records and Blue Note Records, where he was instrumental in launching EMI's global New Technology & New Media division.
Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a member of the Academy of Recorded Arts & Sciences. He serves on the advisory board of Finnish company StarCut, one of the world leaders in the field of mobile entertainment. Simon is based in Los Angeles.
