| Ian Murdock is co-founder, Chairman, and Chief Technology Officer of Progeny, an independent provider of Linux platform technology. Progeny's latest product, Platform Services, is a subscription service that can lower development costs, decrease time to market, and improve the quality of value-added Linux-powered products and services. Murdock played an instrumental role in the transition of Linux from hobby project to mainstream technology by creating Debian, one of the first Linux-based operating systems, called distributions. Murdock holds a B.S. in computer science from Purdue University and was a founding director of Linux International and the Open Source Initiative. |
