| Timothy Ney is the Executive Director of the GNOME Foundation and manages the organization's administration, marketing and outreach activities. Mr. Ney has an extensive background in media, on-line business and management, as well as non-profit leadership. He has a long history in the GNU/Linux community, acting as the Managing Officer of the Free Software Foundation for three years. Tim's experience in non-profit organizations include the Independent Feature Project in New York, where he was the Executive Director and the New York Foundation for the Arts, where he acted as Director of the Loan and Sponsorship Programs. As Director of Business Development for Baseline in Los Angeles, he launched the on-line service for the entertainment industry into Europe and Japan. Based, in Boson, Mass., Mr. Ney has played an important role with GNOME since its launch, coordinating the overall marketing and administration efforts. He has consulted with companies and governments around the world on their strategic planning in the IT sector. |
