Mike Balma Linux Business Strategist Hewlett-Packard
Mike is HP's Linux Business Strategist. Mike has helped drive HP's strategy for Linux and Open Source software across HP since 1999. Mike is a member of HP's Open Source Review Board that reviews HP open source projects. He was involved in the porting of Linux to Itanium and PA-RISC. He also helped create an exchange for open source software development.
Mike is on the board of directors for the Open-Source Software Institute whose mission is to promote open source software into government applications. Mike is HP's representative to Linux International. And he has represented HP at the Open Source Development Lab and the Free Standards Group.
Mike has been with HP for 20 years and has lead several HP efforts to create specific industry solution architectures.
