Dr. Sperano began his career at IBM 29 years ago as a Systems Engineer. Today, he is responsible for worldwide marketing initiatives and strategy development of IBM’sThinkPad based wireless technologies such as the IEEE 802.11-based WLAN specification along with Bluetooth products. Prior to his current position, Dr. Sperano was the worldwide Marketing Manager for the Ultraportable segment of the notebook computer market, responsible for the conception, development, introduction and launch of many of the IBM ThinkPad products.
