Attention all Designers, Developers, Artists, Marketers and Programmer Types:
Join the SFWEB3D for an evening of the best of web3D and new rich media design and applications. As part of the Flash Kit developers conference this year, Jupitermedia has invited the SFWEB3D to host a showcase and discussion featuring the latest and best of web3D technologies and projects. As the Internet grows and broadband is installed into many more locations, Flash will be joined by real-time 3D as the key media in digital visualization and communications. Web3D has all the markings of the next big thing with new standards like X3D being ratified and new tools that offer cross platform (Mac and PC) simplicity for authoring starting to ship. What Flash was in 1997, Web3D is today…easy to use, affordable and ready for the market to use.
Following the popular Web3D Showcase at last month’s Siggraph 2003 in San Jose, the SFWEB3D Showcase event promises to be a follow up hit in a ONE–TWO punch for Web3D this summer. Web3D is on all clients mind’s, come see what’s happening and how to get involved now!
The event will be hosted by SFWEB3D founder Larry Rosenthal of www.cube3.com and is scheduled to feature demos and projects highlighting the newest in Web3D. Scheduled so far for the night’s event are presentations from 3D design educator Jane Veeder of SFSU, and demos of the latest in 3D tools from developers such as Anark, MindAvenue, Kaon, and Vizx3D. Also to be shown, will be the new ManyOne.net browser that has the new Flux X3D browser being built into it from the ground up. This new browser will offer developers a whole new platform for developing web content in real-time 3D. Many more are set to present and talk so RSVP now, the seating will be limited beyond the show’s attendees and SFWEB3D members.
Join us in what should be a "historic"J meeting between the 2D world of Flash and the world of real-time 3D that’s coming to the Internet. Almost 10 years ago this event; then positioned as the earliest of BOF’s led to the multimedia revolution on the then infant WWW. Futuresplash was shown that day along side the early VRML 1.0 and the west coast developers met with the east coast designers for the first time at a similar meeting in New York. Those next few years defined the boom and the birth of the Internet for all. What will this year’s meeting offer? What will be said about this meeting in 10 years? Come be there and be apart of it firsthand.
