As Chief Operating Officer for Microsoft Game Studios for Microsoft Corp., Shane Kim is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the studio. He overseas production of both Xbox and PC games, where he leads the production implementation of real-time strategies for the PC and development of key Xbox titles including "Kung Fu Chaos", "Project Gotham Racing" and "Fusion Frenzy". Kim is instrumental in working with the recently acquired the Rare Studios Ltd., Zone.com, Sports Studios and Microsoft Game Studios in Japan.
Kim joined Microsoft in 1990 as a member of the marketing team with the Work Application and Back Office Groups. Early in his career, Kim played an integral part in the groundbreaking launch of the first email product created for the PC. Kim went on to manage the international marketing group for the PC division. In 1996, Kim joined the Microsoft GameStudios where he continues to oversee the development and publishing of one of the world's leading game companies.
Kim holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard University.
