| In April 2002, René Copeland joined Platform as Vice President, Sales, Government and Life Sciences. Mr. Copeland joined Platform from Cray Inc., where, most recently, he held the position of Vice President, Americas Sales, and managed the North American sales force including the Cray Federal group. In his 15-year career at Cray Research, started in 1980, Mr. Copeland held a number of sales and management positions, including Assistant to the Chairman. He joined Cray Inc. as Vice President, Sales and Marketing in February 2000, where he managed the marketing efforts and the sales activities in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific. Mr. Copeland has also held several other key executive management positions in the high-performance computer industry during the past 20 years, including senior positions at Cray, SGI and IBM. While at IBM, Mr. Copeland was Manager of the World-Wide Manufacturing Segment for the RS/6000 SP supercomputer. From 1995 to 1998, Copeland held a variety of positions at SGI Inc., including Managing Director of SGI, PTY Ltd., the SGI sales subsidiary in South Africa, and Director of Planning and Customer Relations, where he was responsible for the Cray User Group and customer advisory boards. Mr. Copeland is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he obtained his B.S. Electrical Engineering and subsequently received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. |
