As Grid Solutions Manager, Ian Lumb serves as Platform Computing Inc.'s
technology evangelist for Grid Computing. In this role, he is responsible
for educating and liaising with customers and partners regarding the
principles of grid computing, including standards, proof of concept, and
production deployment requirements. In addition, Mr. Lumb champions
Platform's comprehensive enterprise grid solutions, as well as partner grid
solutions based on the Globus Toolkit.
Throughout his career with Platform, Mr. Lumb has held various positions,
including Senior Technical Consultant where he was responsible for
establishing the company's training practice, and Integration Architect,
where he acted as technical liaison for the company's system vendor
partners.
Mr. Lumb has enjoyed an extensive career in scientific research and
distributed computing on an international scale. Prior to joining Platform
Computing in 1998, Mr. Lumb was a Researcher and Educator at Toronto's York
University, where he also performed work on distributed computing.
Mr. Lumb is a graduate of McGill University where he received a Bachelors of
Science, and subsequently completed a Masters of Science at Toronto's York
University.
