| As Vice President of Product Management at AVAKI, Philip Werner is responsible for managing product lifecycles, product definition and go-to-market planning for AVAKI's grid software. A software industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience in product management, software development and enterprise systems integration, Philip has held management positions at Art Technology Group, Vermeer Technologies, Epesi Technologies, InConcert and Interleaf over the course of his career. Considered an industry expert on Web services, middleware, enterprise application integration, content management and search technologies, Philip is currently extremely active in the definition of open standards for secure, wide area data integration in life sciences. He is a member of the Technical Architecture Group of the I3C (Interoperable Informatics Infrastructure Consortium) and co-author of the Life Science Identifier (LSID) Standard. In addition, Philip continues to be widely published within the neuroscience, computational linguistics and computer science industries. Philip received his undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University and holds an MSc in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. |
