Pete Asprey is a Principle Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories with a current focus on implementation of collaborative technologies, and on IT architecture. Asprey led the implementation of both web based team workspaces and instant messaging/web conferencing over the last several years, and is currently working towards their full integration. He recently implemented a number of IM based 'bots' (agents) that deliver needed corporate information in small bites while demanding minimal user input.
Previous assignments, over 30 years in IT, included implementation of the first widely-used electronic mail systems at Sandia (many years ago!), and lead database architect on a fully integrated IS system, as well as frequent technology consultant. He has a master's in operations research from UC Berkeley.
