Philippe Depallens
Director, Software and Operations
Video Business Unit
Logitech
With more than a decade of experience in consumer software development and strategic relations management, Philippe Depallens is the director of software and operations for video services at Logitech. Mr. Depallens joined the company in May 2002, with the acquisition of SpotLife, an Internet-enabled personal broadcasting company, where he was co-founder. He currently manages the development of all Logitech video services, including the technical software and engineering teams that develop Logitech QuickCam software, as well as software applications that extend video to platforms such as instant messaging and mobile phones.
As cofounder of the small, yet visionary company, SpotLife, Philippe was able to integrate his work experience with his interest in personalizing communication beyond voice or email, by using his background in rich media and the Internet. His vision with SpotLife was to enable the Internet to greatly improve the way people communicate - via visual means - much like email did through text.
Prior to SpotLife, he served as senior software manager at Logitech, where he was a key contributor in the development of several impressive software design systems. While at Logitech, he also instituted processes for fast cycle development, and usage of the Internet for user support. Philippe's tenure as the Logitech scanner division software manager contributed to his strategic planning and user-study experience. In addition to his strong consumer-based strategic guidance, Philippe has helped develop several patents and award-winning products in software engineering.
Philippe earned his BS in Computer Science from the Yverdon Engineering School.
