Terry M. Olkin Founder and Chief Technology Officer Sigaba
Terry M. Olkin is the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Secure Data In Motion, Inc. (d/b/a Sigaba) which develops enterprise-class software solutions for secure messaging, including email, electronic statements and
instant messaging. Prior to founding Sigaba, Mr. Olkin served as architect at Microsoft Corporation where he focused on issues including persistent XML and secure messaging. Mr. Olkin was formerly Vice President of Engineering at Open Horizon, Inc. a secure real-time messaging company, where he did work in global single sign on. Prior to Open Horizon, he spent six years at Oracle Corporation, most recently as a founder and member of their Advanced Technology Division where he did research on next generation database models.
Mr. Olkin is the author of numerous patents, all in the field of security. The patents cover aspects of security from proxy authentication to secure middleware to key distribution in a distributed secure messaging system. He helped in the specification of the JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) standard and the JMS (Java Messaging Service) standard. Mr. Olkin holds a BS degree in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT and has spent almost 30 years writing software and designing real-time, mission critical systems.
