"If the Web is a journey 1,000 miles long," says Dr. David Weinberger, "we've barely begun to pack our bags." He brings truly unique credentials to the task of "unpacking the Web." He is a co-author of the bestseller The Cluetrain Manifesto which InformationWeek called "the most important business book since [Tom Peters'] In Search of Excellence." His new book, Small Pieces Loosely Joined (Spring, 2002), is a remarkable exploration of how the Web is rewriting the most basic understanding of ourselves and the real world. He is a commentator on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered," and is a columnist for KMWorld, internet.com, and Darwin Magazine. His work has appeared in many magazines, ranging from Harvard Business Review to the New York Times to Wired. As well as writing about the way the Web is changing business and society, Dr. Weinberger has been an active participant -- working for, founding and consulting with companies -- from F500's to early- stage start-ups -- in the new market space.
