Bob Woods has more than 14 years in both technology coverage and
journalism in general.
Woods joined internet.com in December, 2000 as managing editor of NewMedia.
In April 2001, he launched and is also the current managing editor of
InstantMessagingPlanet.com (www.instantmessagingplanet.com/) & OpticallyNetworked.com (www.opticallynetworked.com/)
Prior to internet.com, Woods launched and served as editor-in-chief of
Washtech.com from December 1999 to December 2000. Before that, he served in
a variety of editor and reporter positions for Newsbytes from January 1995
to December 2000.
He started his journalism life at WTVG-TV in Toledo, Ohio, where he worked
his way up from weekend intern in 1983 to 11 P.M. news producer from 1990 to
1993. Woods also was a salesperson for the now-defunct computer reseller
Elek-Tek in Chicago from 1993 to 1995.
