Alex Barkaloff Vice President, Business Development WebMessenger, Inc. As Vice President, Business Development for WebMessenger, Inc., Alex Barkaloff brings over 19 years of applied technology industry experience, with a strong focus on enterprise wireless networks, consumer networks and messaging. Most recently, he served as founder of GlobalNet Ventures, LLC, a San-Francisco-based venture catalyst for the wireless industry that had global partnerships with Nokia Ventures, Nokia Corp, Symbian, Microsoft, SonyEricsson, T-Mobile, Handspring, Sendo and many device makers and mobile carriers. He has invested in leading business to business technology startups, including Magma Solutions, Mjuice.com and CreativePlanet.com. Prior to that, Mr. Barkaloff served as Director, Application Server Marketing Alliances for Oracle. Between 1991 and 1994, he served as Group Manager, East Europe for PSION Ltd. in Poland, where he was responsible for creating initial retail sales and vertical industry and creating some of the worldâs first mobile solutions utilizing Ericsson's Mobitex. Prior to that he served as Systems Engineer for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL/NASA) creating proprietary communications algorithms and related software for space and ground-based instrument control. He has serves on the Americas Executive board of the Mobile Entertainment Forum, as an Entrepreneur in Residence for London-based Ariadne Capital, and on the boards of WebMessenger and London-based InOrbit Entertainment.
