Brad Treat
Founder and CEO
SightSpeed
Brad Treat co-founded SightSpeed in July 2001 with the vision to make video communications easy to use, without sacrificing quality. This driving vision has taken SightSpeed from academic theory to real-world deployment.
As CEO, Brad has focused SightSpeed on delivering user-friendly video communications, without compromising quality.
SightSpeed is a Berkeley based startup build upon a decade's research into video compression at Cornell University done by co- founders Toby Berger and Aron Rosenberg. SightSpeed has taken real-time visual communications down to a single mouse click, while still delivering full motion, real time video to the desktop, using commodity internet and existing PC's and cameras.
Prior to SightSpeed, Brad worked at Latona Associates, a private equity merchant bank. Prior to Latona he worked in engineering and management capacities at Bowles Fluidics and GKN Automotive where he was responsible for engineering, operations, and personnel management within the high precision, high volume industrial units.
Brad holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Cornell University.
