Sharon Lindley
Director of Boeing Secure Badge Program
The Boeing Company

As the Director of the SecureBadge Program, Sharon Lindley is responsible for the establishment of enterprise processes, technical standards and infrastructure, and deployment of a common badge across the enterprise that meets current and future security requirements for employees, equipment, products and data. In addition to maintaining badge technology that provides security, Lindley is leading the research efforts in the deployment of smart chips within Boeing. The goal is an enterprise-wide smart badge that provides end-to-end integrated physical and computing security to a global workforce. She assumed her current position in February 2002.

Lindley began her Boeing career in 1983 and since that time has held a broad range of assignments throughout The Boeing Company, including customer support, finance and computing. Her initial assignment was in support of the Space Shuttle Projects Office at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. Since then, she has held leadership positions within the former Boeing Computer Services organization, Boeing Defense and Space Group, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, and World Headquarters.

In 1992, Lindley joined the Reserve Component Automation System (RCAS) program, a $1.6B program for the Department of the Army, as the Deputy Chief Engineer. In 1994, she became Deputy Program Manager on the NASA Information Resource and Management Support contract in Washington, DC. Lindley was responsible for the daily management of information technology services provisions to NASA Headquarters.

She has held various leadership positions within finance, including Director of Finance Systems & Architecture for Boeing, during which time she was responsible for leading the integration activities related to the financial processes and computing systems across the company.

Lindley completed her bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Alabama. She obtained her master's in computer science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Sharon earned her Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute. During her career at Boeing, Lindley has participated in several executive programs, including those at Columbia University.
