Fritz Streckewald
Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Program Policy,
Social Security Administration
Mr. Streckewald began his career with Social Security in 1974 as a claims representative and since 1981 has held a number of senior staff and management positions.
After participating in SSA's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program, Mr. Streckewald was appointed to the position of Associate Commissioner for Program Benefits in January 2000. In 2001, he was named the Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Program Policy in the Office of Disability and Income Security Programs, where is responsible for providing SSA-wide leadership in managing the Social Security and Supplemental Security programs.
His responsibilities include overall management of SSA's enumeration process. In 2001, he was asked to lead the Emergency Response Team, SSA's effort to increase the integrity of the enumeration process following the September 11th attacks. The Team's work in this area was featured in the July 2004 issue of Government Executive magazine
Mr. Streckewald earned his Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Brockport.
