Liz Byrnes leads Global Technology Quality Management for Merrill Lynch. Liz has been with Merrill Lynch for seven years and previously headed the Institutional Client and Capital Markets technology division and the Global Equities technology division.
Liz made the shift from a purely applications development focus to a broader business and technology operating focus after leading the highly critical recovery of Merrill’s institutional trading capability post September 11. Liz’s broad knowledge of trading systems and her ability to bring disparate groups together to solve complex problems helped insure Merrill’s multibillion dollar trading business was able to recover from the devastating effects of the World Trade Center attack.
Prior to Joining Merrill Lynch, Liz was Managing Director of Bankers Trust’s Global Market and Credit Risk technology group for five years and Vice President of Manufacturers Hanover Trust’s Strategic Technology and Research group from 1986-1991.
Liz has a Ph.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology.
