After a 10-year career as a US Naval Officer, Travis started in IT as a systems engineer for WebVision, an application development and hosting firm. Travis was eventually promoted to the National Director of Data Center Operations, managing four data centers nationwide. Later, SiteLite, a Managed Service Provider, hired him to run their SE team as well as Product Marketing. SiteLite began experimenting with the ITIL framework in early 2002 and Travis was a key member of the implementation and continuous improvement team, funneling customer feedback into service improvements. Through this experience and formal training he earned the Manager's Certification in IT Service Management (ITSM). Having delivered a level of ITIL maturity for SiteLite, Travis had a desire to bring his experience to a broader market and founded a consulting firm, ITSM Navigators.

During his tenure with SiteLite, Travis gained experience with NetIQ solutions, allowing him to understand customer challenges in deploying it in a broad Service Management architecture. At NetIQ, his focus is to provide strategic sales support for customers implementing Service Management disciplines, as well as channeling feedback from his experience and customer engagements to product marketing and product management, to further improve our products.
