Ian is an accomplished ITIL instructor and founder of the IT Service Management Institute® (ITSMI), the first US company to be approved as an accredited course provider and first company worldwide to receive trademark and copyright licenses from the use of ITIL. He gained his ITIL Service Manager certification in 1997 with a distinction. In 2005 Ian received the itSMF USA Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his passionate championing of the itSMF USA, from his involvement as a founding member, through a four-year tenure on the initial boards, to his current role on the Advisory Board.
