A well-known and respected leader in the adoption and growth of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL^®) and ITSM Best Practices in the U.S.A., Ken Wendle is also internationally known for his practical advice on various aspects of Service Management excellence and his dedication to the ITSM profession.

Ken has an extensive background in IT and, since entering the IT field in the early 1980s, he has worked with and within IT organizations of various sizes, involved in and focused on the Help/Service Desk and IT Service Management field over the past fifteen years. He earned his ITIL^® Certificate in IT Infrastructure Management in 1998, is an HP Certified Consultant, is an accredited course instructor for HP Education.

As a co-founder of the IT Service Management Forum USA (itSMF USA), he was an active board member from 1998 through 2004, and served as its President in 2004 overseeing the most dramatic growth and changes in its history. During his tenure as a Director, he was instrumental in launching the highly successful annual itSMF USA National Conference and Expo, recognized in 2005 by BtoB magazine as one of the top conferences to reach IT professionals. As President Emeritus in 2005, he established and served as chair to the Advisory Board.

On the international scene, Ken is currently serving a two year term as an elected member of the itSMF International Executive Board as Director of Governance and Strategic Planning and is also a member of the itSMF International Publications Executive Sub-Committee, and the ITIL Advisory Group, actively involved with ITIL^® Version 3.0.

Ken also served as a member of the prestigious HDI Strategic Advisory Board from 2004 to 2006, has been a faculty member of the HDI conference and a past member of the HDI IT Infrastructure Management (ITIM) Advisory Board, and is a regular speaker at HDI local chapters.

He is employed by Hewlett-Packard Company as ITSM Solution Lead for the Americas, and involved with many of the largest and most successful ITSM initiatives in the USA.

Ken presented internationally at such events as the itSMF UK conference and as featured keynote at the itSMF Australia conference, the launch of the itSMF New Zealand chapter, and the launch of the itSMF Southern Alberta branch of itSMF Canada.

As an acknowledged thought-leader in the ITSM industry, Ken has participated in numerous "webinars" and panel discussions and is regularly sought for his dynamic and insightful presentations, sharing deep experience, anecdotes, humor and analogy to "inform, educate, entertain, inspire and motivate... though not necessarily in that order".
