As managing director of interactive marketing, Rob Friedman leads the personalized marketing efforts for AA.com, American Airlines award-winning Web site. Among the Web's leading travel sites and recognized as one of the largest e-commerce sites (Media Metrix), AA.com is the best place for customers to do business online with the airline. Friedman oversees the customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing, content and customer service efforts that enhance the online customer experience. In addition to managing AA.com's online and offline advertising and promotions, Rob works with the interactive marketing team to provide AA.com visitors with convenient, personalized information, including the latest news and fares. Recently quoted in InformationWeek regarding privacy on the Web, Friedman brings an extensive background to interactive marketing. In his previous role as director of international revenue management, he led a team that was responsible for pricing and yield management of the airline's $5.5 billion international network and maximizing system revenue and profitability. Friedman joined American in 1990 in its revenue management group, holding a number of operational and strategic planning positions before being named director of domestic pricing. As director, his responsibilities included revenue and profitability planning for all of American's domestic entities.
