David Shirk is senior vice president of Products and Strategy at Vignette Corporation. In his current role, Shirk is the driving force behind the production of Vignette's innovative solutions that enable customers to increase effectiveness of online selling efforts and extend their trading networks to suppliers and online marketplaces.
Before joining Vignette Corp., Shirk served as chief technology officer and senior vice president of product management at Novell Corporation. While at Novell, Shirk managed Novell's Net Services Software strategy and the roadmap for all of Novell's products. Prior to his tenure at Novell, Shirk served as vice president of marketing for Oracle Corporation, charged with the Industry Applications Division. In this role, Shirk built Oracle's vertical industry go-to-market capability, during which time Oracle tripled its applications revenue.
Shirk has more than 12 years of experience in product development, product marketing, business application and vertical industry business solutions. He is an accomplished industry speaker having presented at ISPCON, NETWORLD INTEROP, PC Expo, Oracle Open World.
Shirk holds a bachelor's degree in business from Ohio State University.
