| Debora J. Wilson is president and chief executive officer of weather.com, and has overall responsibility for the strategy, development and growth of The Weather Channel's products and brand in the online media. The Weather Channel's web site, weather.com, which was launched under her direction in 1996, has quickly established a leadership position on the Internet. It is widely recognized as the premier weather destination and consistently ranks among the top 25 most widely utilized Web sites in the world. During her tenure at The Weather Channel, Ms. Wilson has led the development of other new businesses. Among these are The Weather Channel's Radio Network, the syndication of weather pages to newspapers and the development of next-generation digital television, wireless and interactive TV services. Additionally, between 1996 and 1998, she was responsible for the distribution of The Weather Channel's cable network to cable and satellite operators throughout the country. Prior to joining The Weather Channel in 1994, Ms. Wilson was a 15-year veteran of the telecommunications industry. With Bell Atlantic Network Services, she developed and marketed information-based services for the consumer market, including interactive and cable television services. At the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company (an operating subsidiary of Bell Atlantic), Ms. Wilson held positions of increasing responsibility in network operations. Ms. Wilson serves on the board of Lightbridge, Inc. and is active in the cable industry as a member of NCTA (National Cable Television Association) and chairs the High Speed Internet Committee for CTAM (Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing). She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Business Administration from George Mason University. |
