Before Kurokawa became the editor in chief of online "Nikkei Nanotechnology", his main jobs were the head of "LCD/PDP International", tradeshow on flat panel displays in 2000 and 2001, deputy Editor of "Nikkei Venture" in 1995, created the first "WORLD PC EXPO", trade show on personal computers in 1994 and 1995, staff writer of "Nikkei New Materials", next "Nikkei Superconductors" and then "Nikkei Materials & Technology" from 1986 to 1994. Before joins Nikkei McGraw-Hill ( now Nikkei Business Publications or commonly Nikkei BP ), Kurokawa belonged to MITI's ( now METI ) research and development project on super-alloy used for near-future nuclear reactor at Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries ( IHI ) from 1983 to 1985.

In addition to main jobs, Kurokawa is an existing special member of METI's Council for Industrial Structure, a member of Committee for Revitalization of the Kyoto Prefecture's Industry, a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics and a member of the Materials Research Society (MRS). He belonged to the translation and editing team on unique Japanese page of "Nature", British journal on science from 1993 to 1997. As a science and technology journalist, he and coworkers received the first "Superconductivity Science & Technology Award" supported by Science and Technology Agency of Japan in 1997. He was invited as a keynote speaker by Moscow State University and USSR academy of science etc. in 1989 to overview high temperature superconductivity research in Japan, and by Osaka University in 2002 to speak about the outlook on future science and technology.

Kurokawa gained master degree from graduate school of Science and Engineering of Waseda University in 1983 and bachelorship from the same university in 1981. His study field at Waseda University was high temperature corrosion synthesized on the surface of noble metals and its characterization.

Now, Kurokawa and his junior partners are designing framework for "Nikkei Nanotechnology", as a periodic journal focus on industrialization and commercialization of basic nano-technology & nano-science. It'll cover various fields include life-science, environment/energy, information technology and advanced-material. Existing online "Nikkei Nanotechnology" will be supplement to the printed matter afterwards.
