| JoAnne Feeney is Senior Business Strategist for Albany NanoTech and Assistant Professor of NanoEconomics at the School of Nanosciences and Nanoengineering at the University at Albany. She holds an M.A and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester. Prior to her arrival at the University at Albany, Dr. Feeney was on the faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She also spent a year with the Stern School of Business, New York University under a National Science Foundation grant. Dr. Feeney has written extensively on the globalization of markets. Her current work focuses on the fundamental challenges facing advanced technology industries in an increasingly integrated world economy. Her expertise reflects ten years’ experience as a research economist whose analytical and quantitative studies on optimization have provided critical insights into the allocation of productive resources (financial, human, and physical) in global markets with technology-based uncertainty. In her work, Dr. Feeney has identified strategies to enhance growth, has determined optimal responses to market, technical, and political risk, has developed criteria to exploit potential gains from strategic alliances, and has derived the impact of incomplete contracts on decision making. She has published in leading general and field journals in economics, has consulted for international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and has given numerous seminars around the world. Dr. Feeney is a member of the American Economic Association, Econometrics Society, and Society for Economic Dynamics. She serves on the Editorial Board of the North American Journal of Economics and Finance. |
