Daniel joined Sevin Rosen Funds (SRF) in 2001 as a Senior Associate to focus
on early-stage investment opportunities in Nanotechnology, semiconductors,
materials technologies, and networking infrastructure. He is currently a
Board Observer for Opvista and airBand Communications, two SRF-funded
companies.
Prior to joining SRF, Daniel worked for Redpoint Ventures where he assessed
business opportunities and conducted due-diligence for early-stage equity
investments in optical networking, wireless communications, semiconductors,
MEMs, and Nanotechnology ventures. While at Redpoint, Daniel also worked
on the firm's investment in Sabeus Photonics. Previously, Daniel was at
Intel Corporation where he was employed as a Sr. Process Engineer in the Fab
Capital Equipment Development Group, a Sr. Strategic Marketing Engineer in
the Desktop Products Group, and as a Manager of Strategic Investments with
Intel's corporate venture group, Intel Capital. Before joining Intel,
Daniel founded NANOscience Technology Corporation, whose mission was to be
the leader in the development and commercialization of thin film, optical,
and electronic device products based upon metal and semiconductor
nanomaterials.
Daniel has co-authored and published several Nanotechnology research
articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is also a named inventor
on two patents in the field of Nanotechnology and has given invited talks on
the subject in a number of business as well as academic forums.
Daniel received a B.S. in Chemistry from The University of California,
Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (concentration in Nanotechnology)
from the University of California, Los Angeles. Daniel also holds an M.B.A.
from The Anderson School at UCLA where he was an Anderson Venture Fellow.
