Winslow L. Sargeant received the Ph.D. degree from The University of
Wisconsin, Madison, in Electrical Engineering. He has worked for many
companies including MIT Lincoln Laboratory, IBM, AT&T Bell Labs, and Lucent
Technologies. In 1997, he co-founded Aanetcom, a fab-less Integrated
Circuit (IC) design startup company, which was acquired by PMC-Sierra, Inc
in March 2000.
In 2001, Dr. Sargeant became the Electronics program manager in the
Small Business Innovations Research (SBIR) program within NSF. At The
University of Wisconsin-Madison, he is a Foundation director and a member of
the Astronomy board of Visitors. He is a Trustee of the IEEE History Center
and an Adjunct professor in Electrical Engineering at The University of
Pennsylvania. Dr. Sargeant is a member of Sigma XI, Eta Kappa Nu, Kappa
Alpha Psi, New York Academy of Sciences, AAAS, and NSBE. He also received
the 2002 University of Wisconsin Distinguished Young Alumni Award.
